針對林冠華同學輕生辭世事件，行政院長毛治國今天（31）出席「電信之父方公賢齊追思會」後，表達最深切的悲痛。院長呼籲社會大眾尊重林同學家長的看法，並表示立法院王金平院長下午舉行朝野協商，討論是否召開臨時會，如果有需要，將請教育部針對高中課綱議題向立法院提出專案報告。
毛院長強調，政府最關切的是學生學習權益不能中斷，所以從剛開始就針對高中課綱議題，確立處理原則，包括：新舊版本教科書並用，對於有差異的部分，不列入考試範圍，以補充教材的方式，讓學生瞭解其中差異；其次，對於未來高中課綱的決定過程與機制，希望能更公開、更透明，並容納大家的意見，這是政府從一開始便採取的立場；第三，希望教育部吳思華部長持續針對高中課綱議題和社會各界用心溝通。
